Things to do in Bristol this Spring
The city of Bristol, with its green spaces, bustling harbourside and lively atmosphere, is a great destination for a Spring getaway. Evenings are starting to get lighter, blossoms are blossoming, and spirits are lifting. There are loads of activities to do in Bristol in springtime. Here are just a few of our recommendations to get you started on planning your itinerary.
Outdoor dining
If you are hungry but don’t want to leave the warmth of the sun, there are numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs with outdoor seating so you can dine ‘al fresco.’ One of the Bristol’s key features is it’s bustling harbourside, where you will find no shortage of options for open air dining. Walking and cycling
The city of Bristol is also full of green spaces and lovely walking and cycling routes. Bristol is the first Cycling City in the UK and named one of the safest UK cities to cycle in! You can easily hire bikes from Cycle the City, or book cycling tours to see the city with a guide. If cycling isn’t your thing, there are also plenty of interesting walks you can do around the city. For the explorers and adventurers
If you are willing to journey a bit further out of the city-centre, there are some fantastic spots. Westonbirt Arboretum is a short journey from the city and a great day trip, especially for families. It is home to 2,500 different species of trees, a perfect Spring outing! Another great option is The Wave, an inland surfing centre. The Wave is welcoming for surfers of all levels and ages, with special sessions for beginners and young people.
