Below are just a handful of ideas that we recommend – but our staff are all local and are more than happy to give you ideas of great places to visit, or where to get a really good coffee or a fancy meal. We reckon you need to see some of the street art we are famous for, not many cities have so many great graffiti areas – so take a stroll around Stokes Croft and North Street in Bedminster – the site for the Upfest graffiti and street art festival. You can download Apps to take you on a virtual tour or join in an organised walking tour.
There is no disguising Bristol’s past – as a trading city. The waterways around the city are still a great way to get around and there are numerous ferry boats, waterbus services as well as leisure activities from guided tours to paddle boarding.
Bristol Lido reopened in 2008 (previously called Clifton Lido) fully restored to its former glory with spa facilities and a new café and swanky restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

A fantastic area where the exchange building is full of independent traders selling weird and wonderful wares accompanied by the amazing food stalls in the class arcade surrounding area p where the variety and choice of food on offer is utterly amazing.
Clifton Suspension Bridge is often referred to as Brunel’s greatest work and we don’t disagree. It opening in 1864 and is a widely recognised masterpiece – and you will regret not going to see it and ideally walking across it or consider joining a tour that gives all the history and details.
