Things to do in Bristol for Art Lovers

Grab a coffee at Dareshack

A new concept shop in Bristol and a particular favourite of Bristol Wing manager Dave, this place is a haven for creative thinkers. Pop in for an excellent coffee and a dreamy pastry and see what it’s all about – we dare you.

Dareshack is just around the corner from the Bristol Wing and a great way to start your morning feeling inspired.

Check out Centrespace gallery

As you make your way towards the harbour, make sure to poke your heard into Centrespace studios & gallery. You’ll walk through an amazing alleyway full of street art before heading into the gallery. Centrespace gallery makes a point to showcase new and emerging artists in Bristol. It is well worth seeing what shows are on during your stay!

Walk along the harbour to the Arnolfini

Enjoy the harbourside sides as you meander your way to the Arnolfini, a great contemporary art gallery right on the harbour. Explore several floors of beautiful contemporary art and get lost in the gift shop (it’s full of amazing books!)

The café at the Arnolfini is also a great spot to stop and have some lunch, we would definitely recommend it.

Banksy

Bristol is the home of famously elusive street artist Banksy, and you can find his work dispersed throughout the city. Check out this Banksy walking tour from Visit Bristol (they know their stuff)

Visit the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery

Here is a great place to explore art, nature and history in the centre of Bristol. The Bristol Museum is free to enter and has three floors of art work and natural history to explore. It’s the perfect place to bring kids or to just have a quiet wander on your own.

See a show at Thekla

Thekla is a true gem of Bristol nightlife. While Bristol has no shortage of unique spots and cool music venues, this one stands out. Why? It’s on a boat! Be sure to check out what gigs are on during your visit, it’s just a short walk from out hostel and well worth it!
